Pihlajalinna acquires Terveyspalvelu Verso
Pihlajalinna will acquire the entire share capital of Terveyspalvelu Verso Oy from its current owners, the Ylä-Savo joint municipal authority for social and healthcare services, YL Kapital and company personnel. The transaction will be completed on 28 December 2018. The 17 clinics of Terveyspalvelu Verso in Pohjois-Savo will become part of the chain of Pihlajalinna’s private clinics.
With the acquisition of Terveyspalvelu Verso, Pihlajalinna will expand its operations in the Pohois-Savo region and realise its national expansion plan before the implementation of the healthcare and social welfare reform in Finland. Pihlajalinna already has six clinics in the area: full service private clinic/hospitals in Kuopio and Joensuu as well as private clinics in Leppävirta, Suonenjoki, Nurmes and Outokumpu. Additionally, Pihlajalinna owns the majority share of the SavoDent dental clinic in Kuopio.
Työterveyspalvelu Verso is an occupational health services company founded by the Ylä-Savo joint municipal authority for social and healthcare services. The company operates in 17 locations and its customers include about 2,600 local companies with a total of around 17,000 employees. Terveyspalvelu Verso has approximately 65 employees. These employees will work in Pihlajalinna’s service as continuing employees.
“Following the acquisition of Terveyspalvelu Verso, Pihlajalinna’s services will be more widely available in the entire Pohjois-Savo area,” says Joni Aaltonen, CEO of Pihlajalinna. “Services for the current occupational healthcare customers will be extended as they will now have access to Pihlajalinna’s Nurse Telephone Service, the occupational healthcare portal and the AI assisted remote medical service in addition to extensive private clinic service."
